Ashley
Therapy style/beliefs: Life provides all types of challenges. Whether it’s climbing a 14’er or wanting to achieve happiness, it can be difficult to find where to start. Ashley believes that all individuals have unique strengths that can be used to achieve their goals. With motivational interviewing, Ashley strives to help individuals work through their challenges through a safe, warm, and compassionate environment. Her focus is to help clients navigate through their challenges and be able to utilize appropriate coping strategies to help enhance the therapeutic experience. Ashley uses an individualistic approach to make sure each client feels understood and comfortable working towards their goals. By utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, Ashley can help you achieve your goals through evidence based techniques and strengths.
Education: Ashley is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate specializing in children & teens from the University of Northern Colorado. Ashley has her Bachelor’s of Science in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in psychology from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Ashley utilizes techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy.
Specialties: Ashley specializes working with children and teens who may experience difficulties with anxiety, depression, social skills, self-esteem, and trauma. As a Registered Behavioral Therapist (RBT), she created and facilitated a social skills group for children with autism and a sibling support group. Ashley has worked in numerous medical settings, including Shriner’s Hospital for Children - Minneapolis and Banner Family Medicine Clinic, assisting with physical and mental health needs. Ashley is currently working towards her licensure in addictions counseling (LAC). She has experience working with individuals, families, and couples in a variety of settings such as medical facilities and private practice.
